August 11th - We had a great time at our anniversary banquet. To those of you who missed it, well, we hope to see you next year! This year we had over 500 people in attendance, with lots of lion and kungfu demos to see. We are especially proud of our kids who performed a special lion dance this year, and in fact this should be one of the very first times in Vancouver history where a lion dance was done entirely by children under the age of 10! Pictures and video clips coming soon.

Sifu Fu Hang Ng and his students from Los Angeles visiting on August 7thWe also had a special visit from Sifu Fu Hang Ng (great great grandson of Chan Heung) and the Los Angeles Choy Lai Fut family this past weekend. They came to our school during one of our classes, and we had a great time with them during their visit. We hope to see you all here again next year!

July 5th - Our lion team just got back from a short trip over the July 1st holiday to Salmon Arm, where we did a performance at the conclusion of the Shuswap Dragon Boat Society's mini Dragon BoatFest. Our sincere thanks go to the owners of Ming's Garden Restaurant (our Si Hing Ming Mah and his wife Eugenie) for being such wonderful and gracious hosts. We would also like to thank Cindy and of course Graham of the Grey Grebes for giving us our first dragon boat lesson. We had a blast on the water!! Pictures of the event to come soon.

On another note, our women's self-defense program is taking place once again, and are already into week 3. If you are interested in signing up for the next intake, please contact us as soon as possible. March 5th - Virus/spam alert: Recently there have been a huge number of emails that have been sent out using our domain name choylaifut.com as the source of the emails. In particular, they use what appears to be a randomly generated name followed by our domain name, and may look like this: "asdkfjawiejfaw@choylaifut.com". Please be aware that we have not been sending mass mailouts to anyone, especially NOT with an attachment. The only emails we send out are normally our newsletters, which are sent out only to our students and to those who have voluntarily signed up for the newsletters, but no one else outside of these two lists. Therefore, if you receive something from us that appears to be spam, please note carefully that this is likely a virus and should be deleted immediately. The Symantec website has some information on a virus that may potentially be the culprit.
